Key Details
Event date: June 27, 2026
Location: University of Cambridge
Theme: Possibility - Dare to Imagine
Deadline: April 19, 2026
Theme: Possibility (Dare to Dream)
Every breakthrough began as a whisper: what if?
Cambridge has long been a place where that whisper becomes world-changing. Where Francis Crick and James Watson peered into life itself. Where Alan Turing dreamed machines into existence. Where Isaac Newton looked at a falling apple and heard the universe speak. These were not just discoveries. They were acts of imagination, possibility made real.
Possibility is an invitation. To the thinkers who see what others overlook. The builders who make the invisible tangible. The leaders who bet on a future that doesn’t exist yet. From technology and climate to policy and entrepreneurship, this is where bold ideas find their moment. The only question is: what will you dare to imagine?
What they’re really asking is:
What idea are you willing to stand behind that changes how we see what’s possible?
That could be a new framework, counterintuitive insight, redefinition of a problem, or a solution you’ve tested that hasn’t been widely seen yet.
How to apply
Here’s what they’re actually looking for in the application:
Proposed Talk Title (working title is fine)
Core idea (1–2 sentences)
How does your idea connect to “Possibility”? (max 150 words)
Why is this idea important now? (max 150 words)
Has this talk been delivered before?
This is a screening question. Select “No, this is original”. TED wants an original idea, not your standard keynote speech.
Have you previously spoken at events? (If yes, you may upload or link a previous talk (optional).)
Suggestion - If you don’t, I recommend you film a 1-3 minute pitch video explaining your idea.
Brief bio (100–150 words) - Make sure to share your experience as it is relevant to your idea.
What makes you uniquely positioned to speak on this topic? - Connect your bio to your idea.
