Before we get into this opportunity, I want to pause for a second and say thank you.
Today marks 8 weeks of Speaker Accelerator, and this community has grown into 830+ people who are all aspiring to step onto the red circle. Some of you are applying to your first TEDx. Some of you are refining your second or third. All of you are doing the brave work of turning ideas into something sharable.
I’m genuinely grateful you’re here and so proud of you for taking all these brave steps together!
Now, let’s talk about a powerful new stage.
TEDxUAlberta is now accepting speaker nominations for their Spring 2026 conference.
Selected speakers will be chosen based on this form and invited to a brief interview as the next step. Read all the way down for details on how to apply and the application form.

Theme: RegeneraTED
This year’s theme sits at the intersection of biotechnology, neuroscience, healthcare, ethics, and human identity.
RegeneraTED invites us to look beyond medicine as treatment and toward medicine as a perspective.
A lens for exploring:
Identity and ethics
Creativity and responsibility
Trust in healthcare and research
The future of the human experience
This is a conversation about what we can remake, what we must protect, and how we rebuild confidence while reimagining care for individuals and communities alike.
If your idea explores regeneration. Biological, social, cultural, systemic, or psychological. This theme has real depth.
Who this stage is for
This is a strong fit if your idea:
Is grounded in research, lived insight, or applied work
Explores healthcare, neuroscience, biotech, ethics, or systems of care
Engages with trust, responsibility, and the future of humanity
Can translate complex ideas into something human and accessible
You do not need to be a professor or researcher, but credibility and clarity matter here.
You can nominate yourself or someone else
There are two paths in the form:
Self-nomination
Complete the main application and, if shortlisted, you’ll be invited to interview.Nominate someone else
The nominee will be contacted to complete a separate application or interview.
If you are nominating yourself, you’ll complete only the self-nomination section.
What the self-nomination application asks
This is a more academic-facing TEDx application. Expect to answer:
The main idea of your talk and how it connects to RegeneraTED
Your role in the campus community (if applicable, though not limited to campus connected speakers)
A one-sentence audience takeaway
Why you are a strong fit for this conference
Your motivation for participating
Relevant speaking or TEDx experience
A 100–200 word speaker bio
A 2–3 sentence YouTube description for your talk
