I Pulled Every Published TEDx Event for 2026. Here Is What the Numbers Reveal
If you’ve ever looked at the TEDx events map and thought, “Where do I even begin?”, this one is for you.
I pulled every single TEDx event currently listed for 2026 (yes, all 1,365 of them), and here’s what the landscape actually looks like.
More will be added as organizers receive new licenses, so these numbers will grow. But this early snapshot gives us a helpful view of the TEDx landscape, especially if you plan to apply in the next few months.
Here is the breakdown.
By Month (Total 1,365 events)
Quarter 1 (Jan–Mar): 852 events (62.4 percent)
This quarter is already fully posted.
Applications for most of these events opened months ago, and most have already selected speakers.
January: 259 events
February: 297 events
March: 296 events
Quarter one holds the largest concentration of TEDx events in the entire year. If you want a Q1 2027 talk, you should begin preparing now because Q1 fills earliest.
Quarter 2 (Apr–Jun): 419 events (30.7 percent)
We are currently in a transitional window.
There are still open application slots for late Q2 events in 2026, especially in April and May.
April: 198 events
May: 137 events
June: 84 events
Applications for June 2026 are starting to appear now, and more will open throughout December and January.
Quarter 3 (Jul–Sep): 70 events (5.1 percent)
Q3 has a much smaller number of events, but we are still waiting for them to get posted.
July: 28 events
August: 21 events
September: 21 events
Quarter 4 (Oct–Dec): 24 events (1.7 percent)
This quarter always posts the slowest and tends to grow later in the year.
October: 21 events
November: 2 events
December: 1 event
These lean months often include very established, curated events with experienced production teams. They take longer to plan, so some will be posted early next year.
By Country (Top 10)
Here are the top event-hosting countries for 2026 so far:
United States 306 (22%)
India 190 (14%)
Italy 69 (5%)
United Kingdom 60 (4%)
China 44 (3%)
Canada 43 (3%)
Türkiye 42 (3%)
UAE 37 (2.7%)
Brazil 37 (2.7%)
Nigeria 26 (1.9%)
A few notes:
The US and India represent over 36 percent of all events combined.
Countries with smaller numbers (for example Lebanon, Jordan, Malaysia, Greece and Thailand) often provide more intimate curation and unique angles that help your idea stand out.
Countries with large numbers have more competition, but also a larger variety of themes.
How to Interpret These Numbers as a Speaker
1. Q1 is already fully set for 2026
Selections for many January–March events are already happening.
If you want a Q1 talk, think ahead for 2027 and begin refining your idea now.
2. Q2 still has open windows
April and May applications are still popping up.
June events are opening right now through early 2026.
3. Q3 applications are next
In December and January you will start seeing July–September events open.
This is an ideal time to apply because competition dips during holiday months.
4. Q4 grows slowly and often later
Some high-quality events will not appear until early 2026.
Do not assume Q4 is “closed” just because fewer events are listed now.
5. More events will be added throughout 2026
License approvals happen throughout the year.
This means each quarter will continue to fill in over time.
This is why I run the Speaker Accelerator every quarter. Opportunity is constant.
What This Means for Your TEDx Strategy
You do not need to chase every application. You just need to understand the rhythm.
Applications open 6 to 9 months before an event.
Organizers plan 9 to 12 months in advance.
The last 6 months before the event are fully dedicated to speaker selection and coaching.
When you understand this cycle, you can time your submissions and plan your preparation so you never feel late or behind.
